Importer Exporter Code Number (IEC)
An IEC (Importer-Exporter Code) is a mandatory 10-digit business ID for import/export in India, issued by DGFT. It requires a PAN, bank account, and physical address.

Importer License for Restricted Items
To import restricted items like firearms and certain produce, an Importer License is required. Obtain the license from the DGFT through the Exim Facilitation Committee. This license ensures compliance with ITC (HS) Import Policy regulations, facilitating legal importation and adherence to specific restrictions.

Export License for Restricted items
An export license is required for shipping restricted goods and is issued by the Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS). Types include individual, temporary, global, encryption, permanent, and broker licenses. Notably, about 95% of U.S. exports don’t need a license. Ensure compliance for restricted exports.

Grant of Status Certificate
The Grant of Status Certificate, or Star Export House Certificate, recognizes exporters for their performance. Issued automatically by the DGFT based on export data, it boosts export efforts and leadership in trade. Valid until September 30, 2023, for certificates issued before April 1, 2023. Eligible exporters receive the E-SHC annually by August 15.

Issuing Import License under RODTEP, ROSCTL, DFIA
Issuing Import Licenses under RODTEP, ROSCTL, and DFIA schemes aids exporters:
- RoDTEP refunds embedded taxes via electronic scrips, benefiting all sectors.
- RoSCTL offers rebates on state and central taxes, excluding warehouse-manufactured products.
DFIA allows duty-free import of inputs for exporters with specific obligations, promoting exports.
